What this site collects, which services it uses, and how to change your cookie choice.
This is a personal website. Here is what happens when you visit it.
Hosting#
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare receives the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser and the page you asked for, in order to deliver the page and protect the site.
Visit counts#
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views. It sets no cookies and does not identify you.
Google Analytics, only if you accept#
Google Analytics 4 runs only after you click "Accept" in the cookie banner. Until then, the site sends nothing to Google and sets no analytics cookie.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets _ga cookies with a random ID and records the pages you view, where you came from, your device and browser type, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. I use it to see which pages people read.
To change your choice or withdraw consent, click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Rejecting deletes the _ga cookies. Your choice is remembered in one cookie, cc_cookie, for about six months.
Nothing else tracks you#
There are no ads, no other analytics and no social media trackers. Fonts are served from this site.
Some things on the site come from other services, which have their own privacy policies:
- The contact form on the Contacts page is a HubSpot form, hosted by HubSpot.
- Some articles embed a Google Sheet or an Airtable view. These load content from Google or Airtable when you scroll to them.
- Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, X and other sites take you to those sites.
